Community Neurological Leaders Forum

The Neurological Council convenes quarterly Community Neurological Leaders Forums to help building a stronger, more coordinated neurological sector that shapes a better future for Western Australians affected by neurological conditions.

 

Through sustained collaboration, advocacy and collective leadership, the Community Neurological Leaders Forum has become a respected voice for Western Australia’s neurological sector.

Our Impact
​​

Together, forum members have:
 

  • Advocated for the development of WA Health's first Neurological Health Strategy, helping ensure neurological health is recognised as a priority within the health system.

  • Convened the inaugural Australasian Neurological Conference & Expo (ANCE), bringing together leaders, clinicians, researchers, policymakers and people with lived experience from across Australia.

  • Strengthened relationships between community organisations, government, health services and researchers to drive better outcomes for people living with neurological conditions.

  • Contributed to sector-wide research, policy development and data initiatives that inform planning, funding and service improvement.

  • Advanced the implementation of the World Health Organisation's Intersectoral Global Action Plan on Epilepsy and Other Neurological Disorders (IGAP) in Western Australia.

  • Established a trusted mechanism for ongoing engagement between government and the community neurological sector.
